If you thrive at the intersection of data, strategy, and emerging technology, this is a meaningful opportunity to make an impact.</p><p><b>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><p><b>Power Supply Strategy &amp; Development</b></p><ul><li>Build, evolve, and broaden MMWEC’s short- and mid-term power supply programs.</li><li>Present physical and financial supply strategies and hedging options to Member Systems.</li><li>Define Member risk tolerance and structure transactions that promote stability and flexibility.</li><li>Apply energy derivative pricing knowledge to optimize optionality and resource positioning.</li></ul><p><b>Power Portfolio Management</b></p><ul><li>Conduct structured analysis of Member resource mixes, identifying risks and diversification opportunities.</li><li>Monitor fuel inputs, forward markets, and utilization trends to reduce or stabilize power costs.</li><li>Implement strategies that reduce exposure, optimize resources, and meet budget targets.</li><li>Provide regular portfolio reviews and establish hedge/exposure targets within risk parameters.</li></ul><p><b>Asset Optimization &amp; ISO-NE Market Operations</b></p><ul><li>Develop and execute strategies to maximize the economic and operational value of Member and MMWEC assets across ISO-NE markets (capacity, reserves, regulation, and more).</li><li>Report gross margins and asset economics with accuracy and insight.</li><li>Serve as backup bidder for Stony Brook and MMWEC assets in Day-Ahead and Real-Time markets.</li><li>Oversee Peak Alert and Remote Dispatch operations and communicate economic outcomes to Members.</li><li>Manage REC trading, procurement, and retirement in alignment with Member strategies.</li></ul><p><b>Reporting &amp; Forecasting</b></p><ul><li>Prepare and analyze Power Portfolio Cost Reports, Power Cost Forecasts, and Asset Performance Reports.</li><li>Communicate performance results to Member Systems and internal stakeholders.</li><li>Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and quality of all distributed data.</li></ul><p><b>Rotational &amp; Daily Operations</b></p><ul><li>Perform Daily Peak Demand Forecasting and Remote Dispatch duties.</li><li>Participate in daily rotational responsibilities including bidding, peak alert forecasting, and EV charging scheduling.</li><li>Support special projects and emerging initiatives as assigned.</li></ul><p><b>TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in math, science, engineering, economics, or a related technical discipline.</li><li>3–7 years of relevant experience in energy markets, commodities, analytics, or similar fields.</li><li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; SQL or other database experience preferred.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret conflicting data.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex concepts to diverse audiences.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage deadlines and Member expectations effectively.</li><li>Integrity, reliability, and a detail-oriented mindset.</li></ul><p><b></b></p><p><strong>MMWEC offers a competitive salary and benefits package including robust medical and dental benefits with low employee cost, a savings retirement plan with a 6% company contribution and up to an additional 3% company match, earned vacation time, sick time, and 11 paid holidays. MMWEC is seeking an Auxiliary Operator to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all auxiliary equipment and boilers at the Stony Brook Power Plant.</p><p>Working under the immediate supervision of the Control Room Operator and the Shift Supervisor, you will be the eyes and ears of the plant floor. You will play a critical role in monitoring systems, anticipating issues before they escalate, and maintaining the continuous, safe output of our facility.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Safe Operations: Operate all auxiliary equipment and boilers associated with the Stony Brook Power Plant safely and efficiently, strictly following established operating procedures.</li><li>Vigilant Monitoring: Patrol and inspect operating equipment, recognize abnormal conditions quickly, and verify the automatic starting of standby equipment.</li><li>Manual Control: Manually control flows, levels, temperatures, speeds, and pressures when required, including systems normally controlled automatically.</li><li>Corrective Action: Take immediate, decisive action to prevent damage to company property or injury to personnel.
